A WEBLOG & LIFEWORK
Journal
I began blogging in 2012 after recovering from a ten-year addiction to heroin and a lifetime of degeneracy. Since then I’ve written essays, profiles, letters, rants, memoir—virtually all forms of creative nonfiction—as well as one gear review.
Mostly I write about what I’m thinking on, and that often involves estrangement, authenticity, and ideas that might be broadly considered Romantic. I’m interested in right living, or what my friends and I might call “integrity in moderation.”
Photos
I started shooting film in the eighth grade—1991. All photos on the website are digital scans of my film negatives.
Bikes
During a blizzard in early 2018 I pulled a 1993 Trek 850 from a dumpster and determined to restore it. The rest is history.
Pipes
I made my first pipe from brass on a lathe in my tenth-grade shop class—for cannabis. Now I shape briar for smoking tobacco.
